About The Position

We are seeking a hands-on, people-focused Operations Trainer to support daily plant operations in a fast-paced chemical/industrial environment. This role is responsible for developing and delivering effective training that drives safe, reliable, and efficient production while strengthening team capability and culture. The successful candidate will be highly visible in the field, working alongside employees, coaching, and providing the knowledge and support necessary for both individuals and the operation to succeed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in industrial, chemical, or manufacturing operations, with strong knowledge of plant processes and equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and mentor employees at all levels.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust and engage effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proven commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and quality standards.
  • Ability to develop and deliver clear, effective training materials and presentations.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, with experience maintaining training records and competency evaluations.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt training to meet operational needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar tools; experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, deliver, and maintain training programs that ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Actively engage with employees in the field - building relationships, providing instruction, and being a visible, approachable resource.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning culture that promotes accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
  • Assess employee proficiency on production processes and equipment operation; partner with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to address gaps and strengthen reliability.
  • Facilitate daily shift meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to communicate priorities and reinforce safe, consistent practices.
  • Coach and mentor employees, providing feedback, guidance, and development opportunities to build skills and promote growth.
  • Support the implementation and standardization of operational best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and continuous improvement initiatives through training.
  • Maintain accurate training records, competency evaluations, and progress tracking for employees and crews.
