About The Position

The Operations/Operator position is located at Marathon Pipe Line’s Marine Dock and Terminal facility in Texas City, TX. This position works in and around LPG and petroleum products and connecting pipelines executing Operations & Logistics and periodic measurement activities, as well as other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will perform such duties as: facilitating and monitoring pipeline movements, marine dock operations and conducting product sampling, etc. in assure accordance with all regulations in support of DOT, Environmental, Safety and Regulatory compliance. Travel, call-outs, and overtime will be required on an as-needed basis. Must be willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • A valid driver’s license is required
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills is expected
  • TWIC is required
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces for an extended period of time
  • Physical demands include pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Work at elevated heights
  • Climbing up/down ladders and stairs
  • Bending, squatting, twisting at waist, and overhead reaching in addition to seated computer-based work/training

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred but not required
  • Previous pipeline and marine dock operations experience is highly preferred
  • 3-5 years professional work experience is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating and monitoring pipeline movements
  • Marine dock operations
  • Conducting product sampling
  • Performing tasks associated with pipeline and measurements
  • Performing routine stations checks
  • Responding to and resolving station alarms and communicating findings to appropriate parties
  • Responding to right of way conflicts (if needed)
  • Generating computerized work requests in SAP for maintenance tasks
  • Coordinating and communicating maintenance activities
  • Completing all required training
  • Performing work in a safe and environmentally conscious manner in accordance with all Environmental, Safety and Regulatory requirements
