Operations Technician – SPC Plant Harris
About The Position
Plant Harris Combined Cycle Plant E.B. Harris Generating Facility, a combined cycle plant located in Prattville, AL, is currently seeking candidates for the position of Operations Technician. The selected candidate for this position will be responsible for operating and maintaining a combined cycle power plant. This position will be responsible for operating combined cycle units, monitoring, troubleshooting, performing maintenance and repair of all electrical & mechanical power plant equipment. This is a multi-crafted position that has the responsibility of performing various other duties that are expected; these include project management and system ownership assignment. The selected candidate must be able to work a rotating day and night shift schedule that includes coverage on weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Strong electrical & mechanical aptitude is required.
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical & mechanical equipment is required.
- General proficiency in using computer applications, i.e. Microsoft Office products is required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous power plant, turbine, or boiler experience is preferred.
- Gas turbine or combined cycle experience is a plus.
- Electrical and mechanical experience preferred
- Experience in Maximo work order management system is a plus.
- An associate’s technical degree in electrical/instrumentation field is a plus.
