About The Position

The Operations Technician Trainee position is located at Marathon’s Pocatello, ID facility. This position works in and around petroleum products facilities executing Operations & Logistics, Damage Prevention, Right of Way Relations activities, and Terminal Rack duties. The successful candidate will perform such duties as: facilitating and monitoring pipeline movements and conducting product sampling; tank switches and cuts; assure accordance with all regulations in support of DOT, assisting carriers or drivers at the loading rack, maintaining VRU/VCU equipment, Environmental, Safety and Regulatory compliance. Travel, call-outs, and overtime will be required on an as-needed basis. The successful candidate is required to live within 45 minutes of the reporting location (Pocatello, ID).

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED is required
A valid driver's license is required
Proficiency in basic computer skills is expected

Nice To Haves

An Associate’s degree in a technical field is preferred
Previous pipeline experience with an emphasis on electrical/mechanical is highly preferred

Responsibilities

Facilitating and monitoring pipeline movements and conducting product sampling
Tank switches and cuts
Assuring accordance with all regulations in support of DOT
Assisting carriers or drivers at the loading rack
Maintaining VRU/VCU equipment
Environmental, Safety and Regulatory compliance
Performing tasks associated with pipeline, terminal activities, measurements
Performing routine stations checks
Responding to and resolving station alarms and communicate findings to appropriate parties
Responding to right of way conflicts
Generating computerized work requests for maintenance tasks
Coordinating and communicating maintenance activities
Completing all required training
Performing work in a safe and environmentally conscious manner in accordance with all Environmental, Safety and Regulatory requirements
