A Day in The Life of an Operations Technician I at GLE As an Operations Technician I, you play a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient operations. Your day involves inspecting meter bases, service entrances, and energized meters for damage or tampering, and addressing any issues. You also process MISS DIG requests, locate and mark underground facilities, prioritize emergency locates, and track activities for future reference. You respond to inquiries from contractors, members, and the public, manage locator equipment, and monitor paint and flag inventory, ensuring supplies are restocked as needed. During storm events, you assist with recovery efforts and support Engineering and GIS staff with field checks or mapping tasks. Every action you take helps safeguard infrastructure and maintain service reliability for the community.
