About The Position

Restek Corporation is seeking an Operations Technician I to work in the Analytical Reference Material (ARM) department. This role involves critical tasks such as weighing, mixing, ampulating, and packaging products. The position requires careful handling of various chemicals, including regulated materials and carcinogens, with a strong emphasis on adhering to safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and possess basic computer skills. This is a key part of a growing team in a fast-paced environment, with a first shift schedule of Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, and the possibility of overtime.

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
  • Basic math and scientific problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of business concepts and technical details.
  • Knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Ability to follow and give basic oral and written instructions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Respirator fit test.
  • Annual medical surveillance program enrollment.
  • DEA and ATF clearances for handling regulated material.
  • Successful completion of a standard background check.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of specialized training in a science-related technology or relevant experience.
  • Previous manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
  • Ability to train others.

Responsibilities

  • Weigh, mix, ampulate, and package reference standards.
  • Ensure inventory levels are maintained and backorders are serviced timely.
  • Manage a range of chemicals, including regulated materials and carcinogens, following strict safety procedures.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and safety codes.
  • Consult safety officers, reference books, or MSDS when needed.
  • Maintain records and databases related to Statistical Product Control (SPC) and other quality metrics.
  • Understand data to identify issues.
  • Perform basic equipment repairs, installations, and maintenance as needed.
  • Provide technical training and support to others when sufficiently experienced.
  • Attend departmental and team meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
