About The Position

Restek Corporation is seeking an Operations Technician I that will work in the Analytical Reference Material (ARM) department. Responsibilities include weighing, mixing, ampulating, and packaging products. The role requires handling various chemicals, including regulated materials and carcinogens, while adhering to safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The successful candidate must be detail-oriented and have basic computer skills. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software is preferred. This position will be key part of a growing team in a fast-paced environment. The schedule for this position will be either second or third shift with a second shift schedule of Monday through Friday, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm or third shift schedule of Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 pm - 6:30 am, with the potential for overtime. The training period for this position will be Monday through Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm for approximately 6-8 weeks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
  • Basic math and scientific problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
  • Understanding of business concepts and technical details.
  • Knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Ability to follow and give basic oral and written instructions.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to train others.
  • Respirator fit test, annual medical surveillance program enrollment, DEA and ATF clearances for handling regulated material.
  • Successful completion of a standard background check in accordance with Restek policy.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably 2 years of specialized training in a science-related technology or relevant experience.
  • Previous manufacturing experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Weigh, mix, ampulate, and package reference standards.
  • Ensure inventory levels are maintained and backorders are serviced timely.
  • Manage a range of chemicals, including regulated materials and carcinogens, following strict safety procedures.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and safety codes. Consult safety officers, reference books, or MSDS when needed.
  • Maintain records and databases related to Statistical Product Control (SPC) and other quality metrics. Understand data to identify issues.
  • Perform basic equipment repairs, installations, and maintenance as needed.
  • Provide technical training and support to others when sufficiently experienced.
  • Attend departmental and team meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
