The Operations Technician I, Finishing performs various operations including but not limited to grinding, buffing, trimming, and chemical treatment on parts to achieve the required surface dimension and finish. This role involves using hand trucks, pallet jacks, carts, and tables to safely transport product, maintaining a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment. The technician will also detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, and unusual conditions to the department supervisor or lead, while following all designated safety rules and regulations. Support for Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives is expected, along with dimensionally inspecting work using appropriate tools such as calipers, comparators, pin gauges, measuring instruments, and surface plates. The role includes performing weekly housekeeping per the 5S schedule and following work orders to perform operations on various parts and products. Reinforcing safety expectations and ensuring safe operating practices are demonstrated are key aspects, along with reporting issues/concerns to the Supervisor. The technician will support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS) and completing all required training.
