In this hands-on role, you’ll play a vital part in supporting our Operations team. You’ll also collaborate with experienced professionals, work with cutting-edge technology, and help drive the continued success of ELCAN.

Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer literacy and confidence using technology.
  • Ability to understand technical issues and make sound decisions.
  • Comfortable working with the metric system.
  • Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada, have resided in Canada for a minimum of five consecutive years, and meet all other program requirements for security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Self-motivated with a consistently positive attitude.
  • Capable of working day or afternoon shifts and remaining seated or standing for extended periods.
  • Familiarity with maintaining safety and quality standards in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to handle optics, read blueprints, and use measuring equipment.
  • Assemble products according to provided specifications.
  • Utilize calibrated equipment as part of the manufacturing process.
  • Follow workflow instructions from Supervision/Group Leads.
  • Use good visual acuity to identify imperfections in parts or assemblies.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform basic data entry and computer work.
  • Share in the commitment towards a positive workplace culture.
