About The Position

As an Operations Team Lead, you’ll assist in leading and coordinating the day-to-day activities for the assigned shift, including that all resources are assigned in a manner to meet or exceed safety, quality, customer service, and cost objectives.

Requirements

  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to support daily operations, reporting, and workflow execution.
  • Prior Team Lead or Acting Supervisor experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Working knowledge of inbound, outbound, picking, packing, shipping, and receiving operations.
  • Experience reading, understanding, and applying SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Experience operating or overseeing the operation of material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and conveyor systems.
  • Experience leading shift handoffs and daily start up meetings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
  • The ability to thrive in a very fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to fulfill the responsibilities of a physically demanding position – constant lifting.
  • The ability to consistently lift up to 50 - 75lbs.
  • The ability to team-lift up to 250 lbs. occasionally
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Flexible availability for overtime work.

Responsibilities

  • Back up the Operations Supervisor in their absence.
  • Ensure team members, including temporary employees, understand job instructions, safety requirements, and quality guidelines.
  • Identify, document, and develop solution(s) to workflow problems and issues.
  • Lead and coordinate all teams and/or activities for the shift to ensure safety, quality, customer expectations, and cost objectives are met.
  • Provide the Operations Supervisor with feedback on team member performance.
  • Report on customer service, employee safety, equipment, or facility issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Review daily team assignments to ensure that each team is staffed appropriately.
  • Update and maintain the schedule to meet customer demand/expectation and/or any information tracking for reports and spreadsheets.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
