About The Position

The Operations Talent Development Manager (OTDM) is responsible for assisting in the training and development of Assistant Principals of Operations, Regional Directors of Operations, Regional Operations Managers, and HQ Operations team members. The OTDM business partners with the Regional Operations Team to ensure excellent training, development, and evaluation of regional and school operations leaders. Through this work, the OTDM supports regional and school operations leaders in becoming excellent managers who lead high-performing, highly satisfied teams of operations staff who remain at IDEA — the IDEA we are building toward.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required
3+ years’ experience working in training (operations experience preferred)
Advanced experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Planner, and Excel; MS SharePoint Online; Canva or other design software.
Screen capture software and video editing
Experience in designing and facilitating training for adult learners
Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to think proactively and work with minimal direction
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with all levels of staff and the public
Ability to hold others accountable to organizational results
Ability to manage and coach others through influence
Data analysis, survey administration, and analysis
Project management and effective organization

Responsibilities

Drive a high-quality learner experience across operations professional development programs.
Maintain the Regional Operations Training Hubsite and Roadmap Course Library to ensure development content remains current, accurate, and accessible.
Support staff retention through effective training and professional development initiatives.
Coordinate the preparation and distribution of training communications and resources for Operations-led sessions.
Analyze professional development data to inform continuous improvement and measure program effectiveness.
Oversee the design, implementation, and impact of select Operations Professional Development Programs, ensuring sessions are executed with professionalism and preparation.
Lead and facilitate training for leaders throughout operations departments, both virtual and in-person, including fundamental trainings for new hires.
Implement best-in-class adult learning methodologies to reach a broad audience with varying experience levels and comfort with tools and systems.
Facilitate differentiated professional development opportunities based on the needs of individual operations team members because of longevity in the role or experience level.
Develop and maintain, in coordination with the OTD team, the Operations Training Catalog in Roadmap, identifying courses deemed fundamental for newly hired APOs, RDOs, RMs, and HQ Ops Leaders.
Maintain Roadmap certification to create course skeletons using the Roadmap Criteria for Success.
Track progress made by participants against assigned Roadmap asynchronous courses, and establish systems to provide data visibility to all participants and stakeholders.
Revise training sessions from the current Operations Training Library to address learning gaps for successor APOs and RDOs.
Engage and drive best practices around documentation of user guides, training resources, best practice library submissions, and historical changes.
Evaluate the scope & sequences for professional development and make recommendations for updates using evidence-based observations and data.
Impact staff retention through robust training programs that set team members for success in their roles.
Identify learning opportunities based on leaver reasons. Advocate, create, and implement these training programs to support ops leader development and retention.
In-person support for live trainings to enhance the learner experience, conducive to ops leaders thriving, remaining, and growing in their roles.
Build and maintain a training calendar and preparation system with defined milestones for communications, materials, logistics, and facilitator readiness.
Communicate key training information clearly across multiple channels, ensuring participants and their managers receive expectations, pre-work, and resources on schedule.
Ensure all training logistics are prepared and executed the day before scheduled training (i.e. tech checks, sound checks, breakout rooms, materials, supplies, etc.).
Establish feedback loops with regional and school leaders to prioritize training deliverables based on demand and anticipated impact.
Review survey and NPS data after each session and operationalize continuous improvement through iterative updates based on participant feedback.
Create strategy and drive action planning in response to operations survey data needs.
Make data-informed recommendations to improve fundamental training and other courses offered in Roadmap as part of the Ops Training Catalog.
Provide critical feedback to internal teams and stakeholders around learner preferences, training gaps, or deficiencies to ensure the greatest return on development investments.
