About The Position

This role serves as the primary technical support for site database operations, specifically focusing on Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). The analyst ensures the integrity of operational systems, including setup and control processes. They will interface with Operations staff to review procedures, maximize system efficiencies, and provide regular communication on operational issues, process flows, customer requirements, and account-specific matters, including analysis and recommendations. Coordination with Information Technology is key to resolving site technical issues, ensuring timely identification, addressing, and resolution. The position involves defining site requirements for database layout and design, investigating new technologies, and potentially working with system providers for cost estimates on enhancements. Additionally, the role involves designing, developing, and implementing tools for operational analysis (e.g., storage capacities, inventory, freight flow, transportation solutions), identifying areas for service level improvement, cost reduction, and operational enhancements. The analyst will also develop standardized and ad hoc reporting, analyze discrepancies, and implement procedures to minimize them. Conducting feasibility analyses on processes and equipment, calculating cost/benefit and business impact, and proposing solutions are also core functions. A significant part of the role includes training associates on WMS logic and functionality, as well as training site staff on other site systems and tools to ensure compliance and improve productivity. Finally, the analyst will monitor system performance, perform maintenance and backups, and undertake other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field required.
  • Minimum 2 years related experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical ability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable of warehouse operations and freight/logistics optimization.
  • Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision making, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and document processes and procedures.
  • Proficient in the use of analytical techniques such as statistical probability distribution, correlation, data sampling and relating sets of numbers.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborate with internal and external resources, respond to questions from senior management, and manage through conflict with a positive, flexible attitude and professionalism.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office, especially Excel.
  • Talking, hearing and using hands to operate computer equipment.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Information Technology to resolve site technical issues, ensuring timely identification, addressing, and resolution.
  • Serve as functional user to define site requirements for layout and design of site databases.
  • Investigate and recommend new technologies and information systems appropriate to the site.
  • Design, develop, and implement spreadsheets, databases, and other tools to provide ongoing analysis of operational activities (e.g., storage capacities, inventory, freight flow, transportation solutions).
  • Identify areas for improving service levels, reducing costs, and providing operational enhancements.
  • Develop standardized and ad hoc site, management, and/or customer reporting.
  • Analyze discrepancies and implement procedures to minimize them.
  • Conduct feasibility analyses on processes and equipment; calculate cost/benefit and business impact and propose solutions.
  • Train associates on using warehouse management system (WMS) and serve as site expert on WMS logic and functionality.
  • Train site staff on the use of site systems and tools to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and improve productivity.
  • Monitor system performance, perform maintenance and backups as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
