About The Position

The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring safety, quality, efficiency, schedules, budget, housekeeping, and required documentation, including supervision of department employees and coordination of daily activities. The role involves overseeing biogas collection operations and maintenance duties at an assigned facility, directing technicians to optimize operations, and managing staff schedules to comply with biosecurity requirements. This position also includes responsibility for grounds and equipment maintenance coordination, supporting technicians during maintenance projects, and overseeing safe work practices. The supervisor will perform annual appraisals, procure necessary tools and equipment, enforce company policies, and assist with staff recruitment, selection, and training. Collaboration with EHS and HR departments is expected, along with domestic travel up to 20% to projects and the St. Louis headquarters. The role requires promoting a positive working environment and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required.
  • Ability to read blue prints and other technical documents is required.
  • Ability to properly train new employees in biogas processing plant operation.
  • Must possess strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills, as well as initiative and the ability to delegate decision making and other responsibilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple time sensitive projects and issues.
  • Must work well under pressure.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting are required.
  • Ability to read and understand schedules and basic business acumen is required.
  • Computer skills and a basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs is required.
  • Must be able to learn additional software; SharePoint, Ignition, MaintainX, GoCanvas, etc
  • Strong math skills are required.
  • High level of energy and motivation.
  • Must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management, in a team environment.
  • Employees in this position may work at sites regulated by the United States Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and may be subject to federally mandated drug and alcohol testing in accordance with 49 CFR Parts 199 and 40.
  • Compliance with all applicable DOT testing requirements is required to perform safety-sensitive duties.
  • Must have a valid driver license and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record report.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer five (5) years of Plant Operation experience.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for biogas collection operations and maintenance duties at assigned facility.
  • Direct tasks to technicians in daily activities with a goal of optimizing facility operation.
  • Manage staff schedules to stay in compliance with biosecurity requirements.
  • Responsible for grounds and regularly scheduled equipment maintenance coordination.
  • Support technicians during maintenance projects on major mechanical equipment.
  • Oversee safe work practices including lock-out/tag-out, confined space permits, and use of proper personal protective equipment.
  • Perform annual appraisals of direct reports.
  • Procure tools and equipment necessary to complete work tasks.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain staff by assisting with recruiting, selecting, and training employees; counsel and discipline employees; perform annual appraisals of direct reports.
  • Work closely with EHS and HR departments.
  • Travel domestically between domestic projects and to the St. Louis headquarters (up to 20%).
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
  • Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner, and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.
  • Assist and/or operate facilities as need arises.
  • Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
