About The Position

The Operations Supervisor is a critical leadership role within power generation facilities, responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous electrical energy production. This position requires strong technical expertise, supervisory experience, a high level of safety awareness, and the ability to manage complex operational challenges in varied conditions. The supervisor plays a key role in optimizing plant performance, mentoring staff, and ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of heavy industrial equipment, systems, and control technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage personnel effectively, resolve conflicts, research and conduct grievance hearings, and interpret and apply company and union contracts.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide, and coordinate teams while fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Ability to analyze operational data, evaluate processes, and make sound decisions in high-pressure or emergency situations.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with staff, management, and external regulatory agencies.
  • Physical stamina to work in demanding industrial environments, including shift work and exposure to variable weather conditions.
  • Ability to work a 7x7 rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

  • Technical proficiency with operational software and systems, including Emerson Ovation, GE Mark VIe, and SAP work and asset management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and safety standards.
  • Supervise the operation and maintenance of power generation equipment, including turbines, boilers, generators, and electrical systems, to support continuous and efficient energy production.
  • Manage, schedule, and train personnel, including shift operators and maintenance staff, to maintain operational readiness and support professional development.
  • Prepare and maintain operational schedules, logs, and reports documenting equipment status, production metrics, and maintenance activities.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and equipment failures, leading troubleshooting efforts to mitigate damage and restore normal operations.
  • Coordinate with management and cross-functional teams to optimize plant performance, recommend operational improvements, and support capital projects or upgrades.
  • Oversee the procurement of equipment, supplies, and materials required for reliable plant operations.
