About The Position

The Operations Supervisor for the 1st Shift leads a team within the Operations Bindery department, ensuring daily production, quality, and safety goals are consistently met. In this role, you will guide and develop employees, drive operational excellence, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. You will also partner with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies, equipment, and processes. About the Role: Business Operations Direct daily work activities to achieve departmental production targets. Identify and resolve complex technical issues. Lead and participate in continuous improvement and lean initiatives. Identify process waste and implement lean principles to minimize or eliminate it. Execute leader standard work, including daily gemba walks, tier-board facilitation, and continuous improvement meetings. Collaborate across departments to introduce new technology, equipment, and operational processes. People Leadership Supervise a team, providing work direction, coaching, and consistent communication. Support skills development through training and involvement in process improvement activities. Conduct performance evaluations and provide input on compensation decisions. Make recommendations related to hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations. Safety Model and reinforce a strong safety culture. Conduct safety audits and incident investigations, recommending improvements as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and 3–5 years of related manufacturing experience including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Proven supervisory skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • experience with ERP systems and SAP preferred.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing techniques or fulfillment operations preferred.
