About The Position

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the safe, environmentally compliant, and efficient day‑to‑day operation of the facility. This role reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for organizing and coordinating the daily activities of operations personnel, establishing work priorities, and supporting outage planning and execution. The Operations Supervisor also provides technical guidance as needed and ensures the facility is prepared to respond to emergency or unusual operating conditions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a resource recovery or power plant environment, including hands‑on and/or supervisory experience with high‑pressure boilers and electric generation equipment
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• ASME QRO Site‑Specific Operator Certification required (must obtain within 6 months of hire)

Responsibilities

• Routinely tour all areas of the plant and oversee the safety of assigned operating staff and contractors
• Direct and coordinate operational activities during emergency or abnormal conditions; personally perform corrective actions when required
• Provide short‑term relief for Shift Supervisors, including vacation coverage as needed
• When relieving a Shift Supervisor, review, prioritize, and direct daily shift work activities
• Oversee and maintain training programs, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operator logs
• Ensure prioritization and completion of preventative maintenance work orders within the CMMS
• Lead daily coordination meetings with Shift Supervisors
• Directly supervise day‑shift operations employees, including performance management, coaching, and issue resolution
• Oversee waste receipt activities and daily operations on the tipping floor
• Perform and oversee facility water analysis activities
• Coordinate and supervise contractors and vendors as needed
• Serve as Emergency Coordinator in the absence of Facility or Department Managers
• Assume responsibilities of the Operations Manager during absences
