About The Position

The Operations Supervisor position performs a variety of tasks in the warehouse, including supervising all team members, planning and assigning work, and recommending improvements in warehouse methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions in the La Vergne, TN distribution center. Day Shift: Monday through Thursday 7:00am to 5:30pm With 30 years of experience in the wireless industry, Superior Communications has become the nation's largest manufacturer and distributor of wireless accessories with the broadest product offerings and services for all channels of distribution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or GED, or equivalent years of experience
  • Valid driver’s license; satisfactory completion of Superior’s forklift training program (stand-up/stock picker)
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven work experience as a Supervisor or similar role, preferred
  • Experience in Shipping and Receiving
  • 3 years experience in a manufacturing or distribution center environment
  • Computer proficiency of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with measurement of performance goals and standards/metrics
  • Experience using and training a Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present dept. information in an easy to understand and engaging manner
  • Able to prioritize effectively; able to adapt to changing job requirements
  • Effectively train and coach employees; able to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with UPS & FedEx shipping system, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Managing department personnel and department priorities, including coordinating, training, and supervising temporary staffing employees; monitoring attendance, conduct, and safety rules and regulations
  • Working with production scheduling to set up and carry out the production schedule
  • Department planning and KPI management
  • Effective management of labor and expenses; approving all timesheets
  • Ensuring processes and procedures are followed, assisting employees with work process problems; managing and updating department processes; studying and standardizing procedures to improve the efficiency of production
  • Ensuring orders are quality controlled, solving order issues, and confirming Warehouse Receiving Discrepancy (WRD) and past due Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are maintained
  • Organizing and controlling inbound and outgoing shipments
