About The Position

Supervises moderately skilled to skilled employees and operations in one or more production functions. Maintains production schedules. Plans work, assigns work and trains employees. Has authority for hiring, termination, discipline and performance decisions. Ensures product quality standards are maintained. Moderate to high complexity in coordination and supervision of employees. Tennant Company Plant I is looking for an Operations Supervisor - 2nd shift.

Requirements

3+ years of applicable job experience (ex. production, distribution, logistics)
Previous leadership/supervision experience
Experience with Lean System practices across multiple processes
Track record of ensuring equipment is properly maintained and preventative maintenance is performed in a timely manner
Experience in decision making and exercising sound judgement to plan and accomplish goals
Effective communication skills with staff and peers from up and downstream processes
Identify continuous improvement initiatives
Ability to motivate engagement of a diverse group of employees and drive changes
Coach and mentor direct reports
Clear understanding of problem solving process and methods
Identify obstacles within department that may keep employees from being effective; takes action to address issues as they arise.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations
Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information
Ability to successfully handle and manage change
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, both internally and externally; collaborating well cross-functionally
Ability to work within Microsoft Office Suite
Plans and holds the team accountable to daily tasks and departmental strategic goals
Appropriately receive constructive feedback from team members and leadership to continuously improve professionally.
Effective time management.

Responsibilities

Provide the necessary leadership to manage, coach and direct assigned teams to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost metrics
