About The Position

Lynden Healthcare is actively seeking a passionate and professional Operations Supervisor to join our team at our Vaughan, ON location, on the afternoon shift. The successful Operations Supervisor will use their leadership skills to direct the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse in a timely and accurate manner, while always keeping safety as the top priority.

Requirements

  • Good verbal communication with staff, giving clear and concise instructions.
  • Ability to write clearly is an asset.
  • Good labour relations skills to deal effectively with labour relations issues.
  • Previous conflict resolution experience.
  • Ability to make decisions within well-defined standard practice and procedures.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Strong analytical skills to solve inventory discrepancies.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • High school diploma

Nice To Haves

  • College or University degree in logistics, business, or related field is an asset.
  • 2 years of warehouse operations experience, ideally in a 3PL, supply chain logistics or warehouse environment.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Previous labour relations experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed and direct the activities of warehouse associates working in a GMP environment.
  • Schedule and allocate work to the hourly employees to ensure orders will be picked, packed and shipped in an efficient manner. This involves setting procedures to decide which orders to be dealt as a priority, which carrier to use, the time table for trucks coming in and out etc.
  • In the case of returns, ensures that they are checked and stocked in accordance with clients’ instructions.
  • Maintain employees’ attendance records. Makes sure the employment standards comply with the legislation, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Ensure all staff are trained in their respective job functions, including GMP training.
  • Train employees. Whenever necessary, conduct personal counseling with employees and maintain disciplines.
  • Plan staff requirements to meet future operational needs.
  • Participate in improving the efficiency of the warehouse operations, i.e. reviews procedures, modifies equipment.
  • Oversee the housekeeping of the warehouse, i.e. safety, security, machine maintenance, layout, stocking, inventory control of warehouse materials etc.
  • Deal with unforeseen situations, i.e. requests for shipment of life saving drugs under emergency.
  • Roles and responsibilities may change based on business needs.
