About The Position

The Operations Supervisor oversees and organizes labor, equipment, materials, and processes on the production floor. Responsible for completing the production plan for the shift and routine production activities, as well as acting as first-line troubleshooting should problems arise.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within a production/product management capacity.
  • Ag and Food Processing experience.
  • Experience in managing time and actions and managing product cycle.
  • Proficient in PC applications, especially MS Excel, and ERP.
  • Ability to manage a team efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and organize labor, equipment, materials, and processes on the production floor.
  • Complete the production plan for the shift and routine production activities.
  • Act as first-line troubleshooting for production floor issues.
  • Comply with health and safety rules and follow all safety policies, procedures, regulations, and work methods.
  • Promptly report injuries for timely diagnoses and medical treatment.
  • Make practical safety suggestions to support continuous safety improvement.
  • Ensure food safety by following and enforcing GMP’s and food safety procedures.
  • Promote the production of high-quality products.
  • Teach and drive Lean Manufacturing principles of “elimination of waste.”
  • Monitor day-to-day operations, progress, revise schedules, resolve problems, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide summary production Key Performance Indicators and reports at the end of the shift.
  • Communicate with Maintenance regarding equipment performance issues.
  • Communicate with Sourcing and Procurement regarding material quality issues.
  • Proactively communicate with HR regarding personnel needs, training, and progressive discipline.
  • Participate in business meetings and activities with a teamwork mindset to promote continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and develop employees and create a cross-functional environment.
  • Maintain constant communication with Farm Labor Contractor.
  • Provide status reports to the direct operations manager.
  • Verify, edit, and approve company employee timecards.
  • Track development milestones to meet set deadlines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
