About The Position

The ACAA’s Operations Supervisor will report to the Airport Duty Manager and is responsible for ensuring airport safety, operational readiness, and compliance with local standards and federal regulations. This role involves monitoring airfield and terminal operations, conducting inspections, supporting the Airport Duty Manager, managing gate assignments, responding to incidents, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure smooth and safe airport operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year accredited college or university in Aviation Management or related field; or Associate’s degree and Two-Three (2-3) years related experience
  • Possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid driver’s license. Note: License must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Extensive knowledge of FAA Ground Control radio procedures, FAA requirements, policies and procedures and regulations, specifically Parts 77, 1542, 139 and 150.
  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations to be able to ensure compliance by airlines, tenants, and other users of the airport.
  • Knowledge of gate management software systems sufficient to be able to monitor activity and make appropriate changes to ensure accurate records.
  • Skill in the simultaneous use of several radio frequencies sufficient to be able to provide and receive information from airport, FAA, airline, and other personnel.
  • Skill in prioritizing and coordinating simultaneous activities to ensure effective and efficient completion of the work assignment.
  • Considerable ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively, and to determine a proper course of action during emergencies.
  • Intermediate skill in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of snow removal and ice control operations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor airfield and terminal operations to ensure safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant activities.
  • Conduct airfield inspections in compliance with Title 14 CFR Part 139 standards.
  • Support the Airport Duty Manager (ADM) with operations, construction coordination, and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform terminal and grounds inspections, including concessions, parking lots, and parking garage facilities.
  • Inspect runways, taxiways, ramps, concourses, cargo, and customs areas for operational hazards and changing conditions.
  • Coordinate NOTAMs and airfield condition reporting through the FAA NOTAM Manager.
  • Coordinate VIP, charter, AIR EVAC, and other special operations with airport stakeholders.
  • Manage gate assignments, ground control activities, and operational systems.
  • Respond to, document, and resolve operational incidents and issues.
  • Coordinate with FAA Air Traffic Control on activities affecting the Air Operations Area (AOA).
  • Prepare and oversee daily operational logs, reports, and shift documentation.
  • Implement emergency response procedures and monitor weather-related airfield conditions.
  • Troubleshoot operational systems, including FIDS, jet bridges, baggage systems, and APCs.
  • Recommend process improvements and perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
