About The Position

The Operations Supervisor will ensure cross-department synchronization for the purpose of quality and safe productivity between the receiving warehouse, receiving office, laboratory and shipping departments. Overseeing a team comprised of a receiving sampler, receiving clerk, lab chemist and shipping coordinator, the Operations supervisor will delegate, lead and ensure sound communication and organization on the 2nd shift at the Milwaukee, WI facility. The 2nd Shift Operations Supervisor will exercise flexibility and versatility in supporting any department as assigned by the Production Manager based on the daily business need or circumstance.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Experience performing inventory and quality control activities
  • Must be able to read, understand, and apply common operational documents, SOP’s, manifests, bills' of lading
  • Ability to work independently with little to minimal supervision
  • Ability to work the schedule for which you are hired for
  • Ability to work on-site as described in the job description
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English

Nice To Haves

  • Previous industry experience and knowledge of DOT regulations is desirable.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance by adhering to regulations, standards, and internal policies, while promoting a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
  • Act as the lead point of contact for completing incident reports and incident management during shift as needed
  • Serve as a working supervisor, overseeing the performance and activities of the shift personnel in Receiving, the laboratory, shipping and office
  • Foster a culture of safety by prioritizing and ensuring compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with the RCRA Part B Permit, while assigning daily tasks to staff
  • Supervise the inventory, sampling, and labeling of received drums, as well as the movement of drums within the warehouse
  • Successfully oversee the complete product flow including but not limited to receiving, laboratory operations, final barcoding and shipment
  • Ensure that sorted containers are properly transferred to designated facility areas
  • Ensure all area equipment is properly maintained and repaired
  • Identify, diagnose and remediate compliance-based issues during shift and ensure proper hand-off to subsequent shift(s) as needed
  • Accurately complete end-of-shift log on a daily basis to ensure cross-functional communication within facility across all shifts
  • Perform other duties as assigned
