About The Position

The Operations Supervisor oversees the daily activities of an operational unit, maintaining workflow, staffing, and scheduling to achieve targeted operational and financial results. This role ensures compliance with operational policies and procedures and resolves routine operational issues. The supervisor schedules and manages workers to ensure efficiency, determines labor hours needed, and oversees the quantity of items to be received, stocked, picked, inventoried, cleaned, and/or shipped.

Requirements

Experience with process improvement methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Understanding of RF scanners and standardized processes.
Knowledge of picking, receiving, and shipping processes, hands-on experience preferred.

Knowledge of ERP/MRP/WMS, especially: SAP, Citrix, Oracle, Cargowise.
Microsoft Office Excel Spreadsheets.
Familiarity with Agile, Arena, and other PLM systems.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Associate degree or equivalent in business administration or industrial management/engineering.
Basic math & writing skills.
Advanced computer skills such as, MRP a plus.
3-5 yrs. of experience in the logistics field or any other related industry.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
Knowledge of handheld RF equipment a plus.
Forklift certification a plus: sit-down & stand-up.

Responsibilities

Ensures that all processes run smoothly and that workers are always kept safe.
Provide managers, peers, and subordinates with information about quality, safety, delivery, cost, and morale.
Coaches and develops employees in daily operations.
Responsible for the training, coaching, and feedback of hourly associates, and performs regular evaluations of associates through factual data and subjective observations.
Oversee anywhere from 1 to 25 hourly associates.
Work with strict demands and budgets to set production schedules.
Monitor activity and make sure that daily quotas are met by keeping workers on task and informed of procedural changes.
Determine the best ways to get back on schedule if production falls behind.
Design detailed product quality checklists and monitor items as they are constructed.
Scrutinize every item before it can be packaged and shipped.
Perform personal inspections to ensure that orders are compliant, and associates are following strict SWI’s/SLAs process steps.
Monitor metrics and Key Performance Indicator's (KPI's) to assess productivity and cost management.
Move Inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from the warehouse, coordinating inventory transfers with related departments.
Maintain inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, and delivering items; securing the warehouse; supervising staff.
Maintain inventory by conducting monthly physical counts, reconciling variances, and inputting data.
Help with the implementation of and continued adherence to Lean manufacturing and 6S initiatives.
Assess and analyze current practices and drive improvements.
Partner and Coordinate with management, peers, subordinates, and other internal departments to resolve issues and concerns.
Lead by example of positive reinforcement and make RK Logistics a World Class company.
Maintain good partnerships with customers by responding to their needs and requirements.
Provide company focal point for customer visits.
Communicate with upper management when issues arise.
