The Transportation Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising all bus drivers and bus assistants, ensuring timely completion of routes and trips with available resources. This role involves reviewing GPS reports and onboard video cameras, enforcing progressive discipline, completing employee evaluations, and administering the student management program. The supervisor will represent the district at meetings, conferences, and seminars and is required to obtain a Class B CDL License with P and S endorsements to transport students. The position involves supervising, assigning work, evaluating, providing work direction, identifying and resolving transportation issues, scheduling retraining, problem-solving route and personnel issues, and providing customer service to transportation employees. The supervisor will initiate protocols to ensure student safety, monitor driver and assistant performance, respond to accident scenes, and transport students daily. They will also monitor two-way radio and telephone communications, meet with various stakeholders to review onboard video, use specialized software for department forms and operational paperwork, utilize GPS tracking and vehicle tablets, implement emergency procedures, and share on-call responsibilities. Additionally, the role includes representing the district at meetings and conferences, meeting with personnel from other transportation departments, attending in-district bus driver meetings, and performing other assigned duties.
