About The Position
The Town of Milton’s Operations division is currently accepting applications for the contract position of Summer Student – Operations (Parks). Successful candidates must be able to work from May 1, 2026 – August 28, 2026. Reporting to the Supervisor, Parks, this position is responsible for park maintenance duties.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary school
- Documentation/proof of registration as a current full-time student must accompany the application; please attach the proof to your resume document
- Minimum G2 license is required
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience with park and road maintenance duties, such as turf maintenance, horticulture, and roadway flagging is considered an asset
- Current Standard First Aid Certificate/CPR and WHMIS is considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Performs park maintenance duties including turf maintenance, horticulture planting and maintenance, garbage collection and other park beatification
- Follows a schedule to provide routine service to parks and open spaces
- Operates riding mowers and landscaping related equipment in accordance with industry standards
- Represents the Town of Milton in a professional manner and works as part of a team
- Complies with all health and safety practices as it relates to the work, standard operating guidelines and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with Department objectives
