About The Position

The 2027 Operations Summer Analyst Program at Nomura is a 10-week program designed to provide interns with extensive exposure to Nomura professionals across all levels through various activities. This program serves as a key component of the firm's full-time recruitment efforts. It is not a rotational program; instead, Summer Analysts are integrated as full members of their teams, gaining hands-on experience similar to first-year Analysts. They are expected to build effective working relationships and demonstrate commitment to the firm's goals and values. Interns will benefit from close collaboration with peers and regular interaction with a senior mentor.

Requirements

Outstanding academic qualifications; strong GPA
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree (preferably Business, Economics, Accounting or Finance)
Graduating May/June 2028 or May/June 2029
Currently authorized to work for any employer in the United States. (Employment visa sponsorship is not provided for this position.)

Responsibilities

Coordinate the on-boarding of all clients in the US region, covering Global Markets and Investment Banking salespeople across Equities and Fixed Income, including new client onboarding and maintenance of existing relationships.
Apply a structured transformation methodology across Americas Operations through Business Analysis and Strategic Reengineering, including creating project documentation (BRD, FRD, Gap Analysis, Risk Impact, Implementation), facilitating project working groups, creating front-to-back process flows and reviews, and performing department-level management reporting.
Oversee Settlement and Corporate Action processing for Equity and Fixed Income products conducted by an external vendor, working with vendor teams to mitigate operational risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
Complete risk reviews of business customers based on KYC standards and firm-set documentation requirements to protect Nomura from inappropriate client relationships.
Bridge front and back office functions, handling trade validation, risk management, P&L reconciliation, collateral operations, and regulatory compliance, providing independent verification to safeguard financial integrity and operational efficiency.
