Operations Strategy & Planning Leader

GE VernovaSchenectady, NY
$151,400 - $252,200Onsite

About The Position

You will be embedded at the intersection of some of the most commercially complex, technically demanding, and strategically significant customer relationships in the U.S. wind energy industry – and multi-billion-dollar partnerships between GE Vernova and select key customers. You will own the operational backbone of that relationship - translating an interconnected suite of long-term commercial agreements into day-to-day execution discipline, financial predictability, and measurable fleet performance outcomes. You will design the operating model, write the playbook, and hold the cross-functional team accountable to it. When things get hard - and in accounts this complex, they sometimes will - you are the person in the room with the technical credibility, commercial judgment, and interpersonal composure to find the path forward.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree (or equivalent deep technical / Wind industry experience); STEM degree strongly preferred; equivalent technical experience in wind turbine systems, FEMA, and field operations will be considered.
  • 10+ years in wind energy operations, commercial / account management, or technical leadership.
  • Approximately 25–30% travel required.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and managing agreements, as well as managing operations - preferably large-scale O&M, supply, or warranty agreements.
  • Demonstrated track record of collaborative problem solving with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience designing and implementing cross-functional operating models or SOPs in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • A strong grasp of turbine systems and maintenance frameworks.
  • Strong ability to build, and maintain long-term financial models.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence matrixed teams without direct authority and manage senior-level customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Architect the Operating Model: Design and enforce a cross-functional "closed-loop" rhythm across Sales, Warranty, MCU, and Engineering. You will eliminate "no man’s land" turn over gaps, ensuring clear ownership and rapid escalation resolution, driving weekly underwriting reviews, monthly trend analysis, quarterly invoice reconciliation, annual strategy assessments and performing any other actions required by management.
  • Own the Financial Narrative: Lead our "one set of books" operating initiative. You will build and maintain long-term service financial models, aligning us with our customers on cost trajectories, inventory strategies, and capital investment timing.
  • Drive Fleet Performance: Translate field data and technical feedback into measurable reliability improvements. You will be the primary link between the customer’s fleet needs and GE Vernova’s capabilities – present and future.
  • Serve as the Contractual Conscience: Navigate the nuance between contractual obligations and operational reality. You will lead non-standard resolutions with a "non-zero-sum" mindset, finding creative solutions that bring mutual benefit GE Vernova and its customers.
