About The Position

The Operations Staff position is responsible for setting up and taking down event equipment, performing facility cleaning and janitorial tasks, maintaining and repairing event equipment, and assisting clients and facility visitors. This role requires the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and involves physical labor such as lifting and operating machinery. The position also requires participation in safety programs and maintaining a safe, secure, and sanitary working environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to understand and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.
  • Working knowledge of hand tools.
  • Ability to move around the facility.
  • Ability to stand for long hours during events.
  • Ability to work inside or outside the building.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, pull, and push.
  • Ability to safely operate various mechanical equipment and tools.
  • Ability to use various cleaning chemicals safely.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, and in warm temperatures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and up to 100 lbs. with mechanical assistance.
  • Ability to carry a 30lb disinfecting equipment backpack for extended periods of time during a shift.
  • Professional appearance and attitude are essential.
  • Report to work when scheduled, on time, in proper and clean uniform, including name tag.
  • Personal appearance and grooming must conform to TCC dress code.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in an event set-up or related field preferred.
  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • Forklift certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and take down flooring, portable chairs, operable walls, barricades, staging, tables, and other equipment for events.
  • Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, scrubbing machines, and extractors.
  • Perform facility cleaning and janitorial tasks including restroom cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, stripping, carpet cleaning, and window washing.
  • Perform deep cleaning, extraction, and stain/gum removal on carpets.
  • Provide debris removal and general labor activities.
  • Maintain and repair event equipment.
  • Transport equipment to and from offsite storage.
  • Perform general maintenance and janitorial duties.
  • Assist clients and facility visitors.
  • Attend and participate in planning, training, and staff meetings.
  • Participate in safety programs.
  • Assist with various department and organization projects and special assignments.
  • Report to work on time, in proper and clean uniform, including name tag.
  • Maintain safe, secure, and sanitary working conditions.
  • Ensure proper facility preparations for event requirements.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.
