About The Position

HUB Operations Staff reports to the Senior Operations Staff. The Operations Staff is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment for homeless Hub guests. This role provides front-line supervision, monitors facility activity, supports daily operations, and ensures compliance with program rules and safety protocols. Operations Staff serve as the first point of contact for guests accessing services within the Homeless HUB. Operations staff play a key role in intake completion, waiting room management, crisis response, and overall site stability. This role is specifically attached to the Homeless HUB, which has been identified as a pilot program. Continued employment is contingent on the pilot being extended.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Must supervise residents in a fair and diplomatic manner
  • Must possess conflict resolution skills

Responsibilities

  • Build rapport and maintain professional boundaries with guests.
  • Be completely familiar with all rules of the program.
  • Conduct intakes for clients seeking assistance at the Homeless HUB.
  • Complete client discharges and all discharge procedures.
  • Maintain the sign-in/sign-out sheets.
  • Maintain activities log with meetings, van, etc.
  • Maintain the communication book and electronic shift reports.
  • Enter client data into the HMIS system.
  • Answer the phone, relay calls and take messages.
  • Ensure the security of the program.
  • Monitor entrances/exits and control access to the facility.
  • Conduct client searches at access control and removal of contraband.
  • Conduct bag checks or screenings as required by program policy.
  • Respond to emergencies, including medical incidents, disturbances, or safety concerns.
  • Document all incidents concerning residents, security, and facility maintenance.
  • Arrange transportation of guests to meetings, hospitals, etc. and, if need be, may be asked to drive.
  • Interface with residents, referring their problems to the proper person resulting in the resident getting the assistance he needs.
  • Communicate important updates during shift change or conclusion of HUB operating hours.
  • Attend mandatory monthly in-service and staff meetings.
  • Oversee ongoing maintenance and general cleanliness of the facility.
  • Report all breakdowns and wear and tear to the maintenance department via work orders.
  • Perform daily inspection of facility including common areas, bathrooms, and unutilized areas.
  • Perform crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Manage all office supplies and ordering when necessary.
  • Monitor and update facility binders.
  • Collaborate with case managers and external agencies to assist in meeting the needs of guests.
  • Support program goals related to housing placement and service engagement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
