About The Position

Blair Logistics, a PS Logistics Company, is a fast-growing, people-oriented trucking company founded in 2009. Starting with 15 trucks, it has expanded to over 600 owner operators with 750+ trailers, specializing in flatbed and conestoga trailers. The Operations Specialist role is crucial for ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations by overseeing employees, optimizing processes, and ensuring deliverables are met. This position will be based on-site at Steelfab Charlotte NC, coordinating shipments and deliveries with Steelfab and working closely with Blair and P&S drivers to meet shipping needs effectively. The specialist will also assist with planning and administrative duties for the Kenly NC load planners. While primarily an office job, it will involve occasional visits to the yard to assist drivers with spotting trailers and delivering paperwork.

Responsibilities

  • Order Entry in LME
  • Responsible for handling permitting
  • Maintain social media postings for the company
  • Managing day-to-day operations
  • Optimizing operational processes and procedures for maximum efficiency while maintaining quality standards
  • Assisting with the implementation of new processes and procedures
  • Identifying ways to improve customer experiences
  • Ordering supplies and maintaining inventory levels
  • Overseeing the operations team and assigning tasks
  • Training new employees and ensuring that health and safety regulations are followed
  • Interacting with customers and suppliers, answering questions, and resolving issues
  • Tracking and reporting on operational performance
  • Maintaining policy and procedure documents
  • Coordinate shipments and deliveries with Steelfab
  • Work alongside the Blair and P&S drivers that haul out of there to make sure we accommodate Steelfabs shipping needs in a timely and effective manner
  • Help coordinate planning and administrative duties for the Kenly NC load planners
  • Go on the yard occasionally throughout the day to help drivers spot trailers and deliver paperwork
