Operations Specialist

Safety RadarTulsa, OK
Hybrid

About The Position

We're hiring an Operations Specialist to be the connective tissue of Safety Radar's business operations. This is a true generalist role: on any given day, you might be pulling together a quarterly grant report, reconciling vendor invoices, setting up a new hire's laptop, or negotiating a software contract. This role is ideal for someone who finds satisfaction in making complex things run smoothly, can toggle between high-level strategy and ground-level execution without losing quality, and genuinely enjoys the variety that comes with a startup environment.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in operations, business administration, or a similar generalist role.
  • Working knowledge of accounting and finance fundamentals (enough to review reports, ask the right questions, and manage the relationship with partners effectively).
  • Strong systems thinking: you can evaluate, implement, and manage software tools without relying on an IT department.
  • Proficiency in using work management platforms like Slack, Airtable, Linear, and Asana.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, especially under competing deadlines.
  • Clear, professional communication.
  • A genuine startup mindset: low ego, high ownership, and a willingness to do whatever the business needs on a given day.

Nice To Haves

  • Startup or high-growth experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of grant reporting: quarterly reports, Request for Proposals (RFPs), payment requests, and compliance documentation.
  • Track deadlines, deliverables, and funding requirements across active grants.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate submissions.
  • Serve as the primary internal point of contact for the company's outsourced accounting, finance, and tax partners.
  • Own the flow of information between Safety Radar and external finance teams, ensuring timely delivery of documentation, approvals, and data.
  • Review and validate financial reports, budgets, and forecasts prepared by external partners.
  • Support investor and board reporting by coordinating inputs and ensuring accuracy.
  • Build and maintain internal financial models as needed to support leadership decision-making.
  • Manage internal tools and platforms (e.g., Slack, Airtable, Google Workspace, hardware inventory).
  • Evaluate, implement, and maintain software systems as the company scales.
  • Serve as the go-to person for troubleshooting internal tech and process issues.
  • Negotiate vendor and service contracts.
  • Manage office operations, procurement, and equipment.
  • Identify and fix operational bottlenecks before they become problems.

Benefits

  • $70,000-$90,000 annual base salary, dependent upon experience.
  • Flexible work environment; hybrid work schedule.
  • Opportunity to build operational infrastructure from the ground up at a high-growth company.
  • Health and Dental insurance.
  • Paid vacation.
  • Stock options.
