Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2–3 years of agricultural experience preferred
  • Knowledge of customer service, agricultural labor, safety management, chemical handling, and equipment maintenance
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles, anhydrous ammonia stations, nurse tanks, elevator equipment, scales, skid-steer, augers, front loader, track mobile, tractors, hopper mixer, forklift, and hand tools
  • Able to read and interpret labels, gauges, plat maps, batch tickets, blend tickets, work orders, and equipment manuals
  • Strong verbal communication skills; able to speak effectively with customers and employees
  • Basic math skills including proportions, volumes, and percentages

Responsibilities

  • Operate manual or computer-based liquid chemical mix plants and/or anhydrous ammonia stations
  • Receive products, unload delivery trucks, and ensure proper labeling and storage of chemicals
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels of chemicals and supplies; enter stock additions into company software
  • Blend and mix liquid chemicals from batch loads per AG Advisor specifications
  • Calculate quantity requirements based on acreage and chemical properties
  • Attach hoses using couplers to applicator machines or tender trucks; monitor chemical transfers
  • Monitor for leaks or spills; clean and dispose of spilled chemicals per OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Affix labels with EPA numbers and chemical information on shuttle vehicles
  • Submit plat maps and batch tickets to drivers; create tickets with producer information for billing
  • Take a lead role in assigned location duties with a moderate degree of decision-making authority
  • Direct and assign daily work to Operations Associates as needed (no formal supervisory authority)
  • Assign chemical plant duties and delivery routes to Operations Associates
  • Follow all OSHA and EPA safety rules and regulations at all times
  • Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of all chemicals and hazardous materials
