About The Position

The Operations Specialist supports Flagstar Financial Operations in accordance with procedures and policies set forth by the Bank.

Requirements

  • Education level required: High School / High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) / Foreign Equivalent
  • Minimum experience required: 1+ Years prior banking experience preferably in a commercial lending environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency working with numbers.
  • Ability to work and think independently and collaborate within a team.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights.
  • Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.
  • Builds trusted client relationships, whether internal or external, by identifying needs and delivering tailored solutions to enhance the overall client experience.
  • Fosters or supports a positive work culture and productive work environment, displaying importance of effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Physical demands (ADA): No unusual physical exertion is involved.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as Teller/Branch Operations and/or Accounting desired.

Responsibilities

  • Process incoming customer service calls, email and mail requests.
  • Perform daily postings to sub ledger of various forms of payments by check, wire, ACH and internal transfer, ensuring payments are posted to the appropriate accounts.
  • Assist the funding department in the daily reconciliation of cash disbursements as needed.
  • Research items to ensure all disbursements are accurate and the totals prove.
  • Assist with Flagstar Financial and Flagstar Financial Public Funding billing process.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks as needed.
  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings.
  • Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
