About The Position

The Director of manufacturing Operations / Operations Site Leader is responsible for the overall performance, direction, and leadership of manufacturing, operations, and site support teams at a Collins Aerospace facility. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of production activities while driving operational excellence, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as definedhttps://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
  • 10+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 10+ years in Operations related Leadership/Management roles (hands on VS/BUM/Operations Manager)
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining/special processing/assembly)
  • 5+ years experience with continuous improvement or Lean Manufacturing
  • Prior experience with turnaround or crisis management
  • Ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

  • Lead all site operations including production, test, supply chain, facilities, EH&S, quality, and logistics.
  • Drive performance to achieve on‑time delivery, cost productivity, lead‑time reduction, and asset management goals.
  • Deploy CORE/ACE (Continuous Improvement) to optimize processes and eliminate waste.
  • Ensure full adherence to Collins, RTX, FAA, DoD, and industry regulations.
  • Maintain a culture of zero‑injury safety and high‑reliability quality.
  • Lead root‑cause investigations and corrective action processes.
  • Develop and execute multi‑year site strategies for capacity, technology, and workforce.
  • Support program transitions and new product introduction (NPI).
  • Maintain a long‑term capital plan for capabilities and site competitiveness.
  • Own the site P&L for operations.
  • Achieve annual budgets for labor, overhead absorption, inventory, and capital.
  • Drive structural cost reductions and productivity initiatives.
  • Lead and develop operations leadership teams and frontline workforce.
  • Promote an inclusive culture aligned with RTX values.
  • Manage workforce planning and employee relations, including union interactions where applicable.
  • Serve as the primary operational interface for internal customers, program teams, aftermarket partners, and executive leadership.
  • Support customer audits, executive reviews, and regulatory inspections.
  • Formulates policies for all quality related items for a large site or geographic area and ensures they are complete and documented so that established quality standards are met.
  • Oversees and directs cost reduction efforts and process improvements for a large site or geographic area to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
  • Oversees and directs scheduling for a large site or geographic area to ensure that the plants meet established targets and standards.
  • Strategically designs processes for sequencing of work such as build and delivery for a large site or geographic area to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of resources.
  • Designs innovative strategies for materials and logistics problem resolution for a large site or geographic area to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations.
  • Ideates and implements policies for cell performance and productivity for a large site or geographic area to maximize productivity.
  • Oversees and directs production innovation, including additive manufacturing, for a large site or geographic area to enhance production capabilities.
  • Consults with and strategically advises customers to ensure that customers’ needs are met.
