About The Position

Core Natural Resources is seeking a highly energized and driven accounting professional for the Leer Mine. The role is a key contributor at the location and is responsible for delivering key outputs to Mine Management and Operations Accounting. The successful candidate will partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure cost estimates and period closing are complete, accurate, and timely. The position requires accountability, learning agility, teamwork, and effective stakeholder partnership.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
At least two years of accounting experience, particularly in cost management in a manufacturing environment; mining experience is preferred.
Strong knowledge of accounting theory and application of U.S. GAAP.
Experience with ERP systems.
Ability to take ownership and accountability, and to pursue solutions and additional information when gaps or questions exist.
Problem-solving skills, including identifying and implementing solutions.
Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust and partner effectively with stakeholders.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including intermediate knowledge of Excel.

Mining experience.
Experience with Oracle ERP systems.

Responsibilities

Promote Core Natural Resources’ core values of Safety and Compliance, Continuous Improvement, and Financial Performance.
Develop subject matter expertise and own the content and processes within the assigned scope of responsibility.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cost estimates.
Perform internal financial statement analysis, reconciliations, and variance explanations.
Deliver internal control compliance.
Own and manage relevant external and internal audit inquiries.
Understand relevant accounting functionality in an ERP environment and identify and drive system and process improvement opportunities, with a focus on automation, simplification, and sustainability.
Build and own cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
Partner with FP&A to formulate the location budget.
Partner with Supply Chain Management to ensure compliance with company policies.
Investigate and resolve business unit inquiries and variance analysis.
