About The Position

Core Natural Resources is seeking a highly energized and driven accounting professional for the Mtn Laurel Mine. The role is a key contributor at the location and executes important deliverables for Mine Management and Operations Accounting. The successful candidate partners with internal and external stakeholders to ensure complete, accurate, and timely cost estimates and period closing. The position values accountability, learning agility, teamwork, and effective partnership with stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Minimum of two years of accounting experience, particularly with cost management in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting theory and application of U.S. GAAP.
Experience with ERP systems.
Ability to build ownership and accountability within assigned responsibilities, and to pursue solutions and additional information when gaps or questions exist.
Problem-solving skills, including identifying and implementing solutions.
Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust and partner effectively with stakeholders.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including intermediate knowledge of Excel.

Nice To Haves

Cost-management experience in a mining environment is preferred.
Oracle ERP experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver subject matter expertise, and own content and processes within the scope of responsibility.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cost estimates.
Perform internal financial statement analysis, reconciliations, and variance explanations.
Deliver internal control compliance.
Own and manage relevant external and internal audit inquiries.
Understand relevant accounting functionality in an ERP environment and identify and drive system and process improvements, with a focus on automation, simplification, and sustainability.
Drive and own cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
Partner with FP&A in formulating the location budget.
Partner with Supply Chain Management to ensure compliance with company policies.
Investigate and resolve business unit inquiries and perform variance analysis.
