Operations Safety Technician

About The Position

As an Operations Safety Technician, you will help implement and track EHS initiatives and training. You will partner with multiple layers of the plant organization, demonstrate a safety mindset, and promote a positive work environment and safe behaviors.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: High School Graduate.
  • Operations experience or EHS experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct new hire training and EHS training and assessments.
  • Organize and run safety committee meetings.
  • Support in the approval of work permits to employees and contractors.
  • Manage the maintenance of emergency and fire protection equipment.
  • Help exceed site goals by administering the near misses/hazard reports program.
  • Assist with 5S documentation and audits.
  • Conduct emergency drills.
  • Support PSSRs and MOCs.
  • Update site communication boards.
  • Enter incident data into the database, liaise with corporate EHS, lead investigations, and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain shop floor presence and engagement.
  • Act with safety and look for risk reduction opportunities.
