About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to provide subject matter expertise to the Air Force Service Cryptologic Component (AF SCC) in the development, formulation, coordination, and representation of cryptologic Intelligence Oversight (IO) and compliance policy, guidance, and implementation to the U.S. Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and national mission partners (NMPs). This role assists Air Force Cryptologic Policy and Compliance Program Managers in overseeing all aspects of oversight and compliance of Air Force cryptologic operations. The analyst participates in the oversight of access to sensitive databases required by pertinent USAF analysts to conduct cryptologic operations in support of customer requirements. Supports the development and management of cryptologic IO and compliance policy and processes to support the entire USAF cryptologic ISR effort, including reviewing cryptologic mission authorization documentation. Ensures AF SCC cryptologic operations meet Federal, Intelligence Community, and DoD IO oversight and compliance directives. Represents the AF SCC in meetings with representatives from NMPs, AF operational organizations (Wings, Centers, etc.), and mission representatives, to ensure USAF cryptologic interests are represented and coordinated. Prepares high-level briefings, policy papers, and associated compilation tasks concerning complex and diversified matters. Additionally, the role involves designing, developing, and applying a variety of decision analytics, mathematical and statistical techniques, data mining, modeling and simulation, and other analytic methods combined with military and/or IC judgment to address operational and planning challenges to facilitate senior leadership decisions. Provides unique and timely analysis on a range of pressing, operationally focused issues using multi-source data in the context of inter-disciplinary techniques and methods.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
  • 6+ years’ experience with Air Force cryptologic Intelligence Oversight (IO) and/or cryptologic policy
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of prior relevant experience OR Associates Degree with 10+ years of prior relevant experience
  • At least 6 years of experience conducting analysis relevant to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or have associate’s degree from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and an additional 4 years of related experience, for a total of 10 years, as a substitute to the bachelor’s degree.

  • Work independently with minimal oversight and direction.
  • Collaborate and work with other IC members on information sharing, driving collection, and addressing analytic disputes and conflict resolution.
  • Develop concise, insightful, and comprehensive products for defense intelligence.
  • Lead teams in researching multifaceted or critical problems.
  • Provide guidance in selecting, designing, and applying analytic methodologies.
  • Use argument evaluation and validated analytic methodologies to challenge differing perspectives.
