About The Position

This position supports the JRO-CBRND of the J8 CJCS in development of military advice through the assessment of capability gaps, needs validation, and integration of joint capability to prevent use or prevail in a CBRN environment. Specifically, the position is designed to perform a broad range of analysis for unique data problems requiring creativity, innovative use of techniques, advanced approaches, and/or new technologies, and utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Requirements

  • Basic Knowledge of CBRN Defense and CWMD plans, policies, doctrine, capabilities, organizations, and general efforts within Department of War (DoW).
  • Knowledge of Data Base Modeling.
  • Provide expert judgments concerning the validity of assumptions made and the criteria to evaluate alternatives.
  • Develop mathematical, statistical, and other automated system models for identification, collection, storage, and analysis of data used to support assigned projects and studies.
  • Provide analysis reports using statistics, graphs, images, and lists that communicate results of analysis to senior leadership.
  • Must have bachelor’s or master’s degree in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level statistics.
  • Guiding and overseeing the use of advanced analytical, mathematical, or statistical theories, principles, concepts, methods, and techniques to generate information, recognize patterns, and predict outcomes and their respective probabilities.
  • Experience utilizing AI.
  • Must have an active TS/SCI
  • Must have a current TS/SCI

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience on the Joint Staff, OSD, COCOM or Service staff is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a broad range of operations research analysis for unique data problems requiring creativity, innovative use of techniques, advanced approaches, and/or new technologies.
  • Establishes assumptions, measures effectiveness of approaches, and evaluates available alternatives.
  • Utilizes scientific inquiry in the independent development of mathematical models and computer programs to evaluate and predict the ability to support assigned data projects, studies, or problems.
  • Evaluates impacts of new technologies on current systems and policies and provides conclusions and recommendations that have a major impact on decisions regarding requirements definition, planning and acquisition of major upgrades, and new system capabilities.
