About The Position

Peraton is seeking an Operations Research Analyst to work in the Joint Distribution Process Analysis Center (JDPAC) at USTRANSCOM. The mission is to provide analysis support to improve the nation's ability to move and sustain forces globally. In this role, you will formulate and produce comprehensive end-to-end analysis of mobility capabilities and requirements using U.S. Transportation Command approved Modeling, Simulation and Optimization (MS&O) tools. You will analyze operational activities to obtain a quantitative basis for decision making using logic and scientific or economic disciplines. This includes devising modeling and measuring techniques, utilizing mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques (linear programming, game theory, probability theory, symbolic language, etc.), and other scientific and economic principles. You will provide analytic and model expertise to select data sources, incorporate data with modeling to replicate real-world model outputs for programmatic analysis, and support command and DoD for JDDE mobility assessments. Key responsibilities include providing analytical support for the Programmatic Division in the Analytics Directorate of US Transportation Command, testing and evaluating software updates for modeling and simulation tools, supporting the Analysis of Mobility Platform (AMP) Setup Team (ASUT) with model setups for various Operational Plan (OPLAN) demands and Concepts of Operations, and reviewing/understanding DoD mobility concepts of operations within the modeling and simulation framework. You will produce papers, reports, and briefings on study formulation, mobility demand signals, and modeling/simulation insights, gather data from various sources, conduct efficient data analysis of modeling and simulation results, manage multiple tasks with competing timelines, and possess strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business or similar fields with 2+ years’ experience, or a Master's degree.
