About The Position

The Operations Reliability Assistant Manager will be based in the Midwest and will work at various grain elevators, flour mills, and soybean processing plants located throughout the Midwest and in North Carolina. This position requires travel to all locations. The role involves commitment to worker safety, regulatory compliance, and adherence to company policies and procedures. The Assistant Manager will supervise and manage business objectives and the operations team, effectively communicating tasks, directives, and policies with both senior management and supervised workers. They must oversee the daily operations of the facilities, providing leadership, support, and accountability to implement all required safety, regulatory, and Company programs and protocols. The role also involves motivating the team, ensuring compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations, coordinating maintenance and repairs, performing safety inspections, monitoring facility safety and quality controls, and overseeing preventative maintenance, quality, and operational programs. The Assistant Manager will assist with managing the business according to pre-set objectives and must be knowledgeable of all operations, systems, policies, and procedures.

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• This job requires the ability to read and comprehend written and oral operational and safety instructions and related rules, policies and memos, and to communicate clearly with co-workers and supervisors.
• For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English.

Nice To Haves

• Background/experience with the current SIMON Maintenace system is preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in agricultural-related studies or Business with relevant work experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations, in addition to Company policy.
• Coordinate maintenance, and large repairs with the operations team and senior management.
• Perform safety inspections, monitors facility safety and quality controls.
• Oversee and monitor preventative maintenance, quality and operational programs and results.
• Assist with managing the business according to pre-set objectives.
• Knowledgeable of all operations, systems, policies and procedures including, but not limited to: Weighing or measuring materials and products and using scales or other measuring instruments to verify specified tonnages, Manipulating controls, levers, and valves to start pumps, auxiliary equipment or conveyors, and to adjust equipment positions, speeds, timing, and material flows, Recording and tracking data such as weights, types, quantities and storage locations of materials, as well as equipment performance problems and downtime, Cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining equipment, machinery, and work stations, using hand tools, shovels, brooms, chemicals, hoses, and lubricants, Observing conveyor operations and monitor lights, dials, and gauges, to maintain specified operating levels and to detect equipment malfunctions.
