About The Position

The Operations Recruiter leads the recruiting efforts for the warehouse and transportation departments for all of Harbor Wholesale, including operations admin, inventory control, and the maintenance shop throughout Oregon, California, and Washington. The Operations Recruiter will source and recruit candidates, build relationships internally and externally that will support Harbor’s staffing needs. This position will support the HR department with other functions and projects when needed, including, but not limited to, the pre-employment process.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of employment law, state and federal, is essential to this position.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Suite programs are required.
  • Ability to file, possess organizational skills, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and be able to make presentations to small groups.

  • Ability to work well with other employees to foster a respectful and professional work environment.
  • Ability to travel to various CDL schools throughout the year and to Harbor’s other distribution centers on an annual basis.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a recruiting environment with flexibility to reset priorities as needed.
  • BA or AA in Human Resources, Business or relevant field of study or experience equivalent to this education in Human Resources, Business or relevant field of study.
  • Three to five years related Human Resources/Recruiting experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recruiting CDL Drivers is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the recruiting efforts to source and recruit all candidates for the warehouse and transportation department, including operations admin, inventory control, and the maintenance shop.
  • Builds and maintains a strong relationship with the hiring manager to support staffing needs.
  • Builds and maintains a solid partnership with recruiting agencies, schools, and other organizations and resources that can support staffing needs.
  • Manages candidate activity in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations in recruitment functions.
  • Screens resumes, interviews candidates (by phone or in person), makes recommendations for hire (or not hire), and supports delivery of employment offers.
  • Use traditional and non-traditional resources to identify and attract quality candidates such as career fairs, on-site hiring events, community network events, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring a smooth internal transfer process, including screening, coordination of interviews with the hiring manager, transfer/offer letter, etc.
  • Follows up with hiring managers to ensure information on the interview process is recorded accurately in the ATS.
  • Completes routine job shadowing in the warehouse and transportation departments to maintain a good understanding of all positions.
  • Other duties assigned by management.
