About The Position

The Operations Quality Engineer will provide quality engineering support to Raytheon programs to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements. You will have a great and direct impact in our Customer Satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
  • Experience with manufacturing methodologies
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

  • Preferred majors in manufacturing or mechanical engineering or majors with fields of study in quality and operations
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with team members, customers, and suppliers.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and apply decision-making skills with appropriate supervisory intervention.
  • Familiar with technical procedures, specifications, standards, and other engineering and manufacturing documents.
  • Perform autonomous, self-guided process and product assessments, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action.
  • Ability to effectively multitask and prioritize.
  • Familiar with Six Sigma methodologies [e.g. Kaizen, Lean, Define/Measure/Analyze/Improve/Control (DMAIC), and Define/Measure/Analyze/Design/Verify (DMADV)] and resources [e.g. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Capability Analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)].
  • Experience working in an aerospace-related manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with microelectronic fab, manufacturing and assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Use critical thinking resources and methods to improve product design; minimize inspection; resolve manufacturing defects/problems; complete such specialized quality functions as data preparation, analyses, and reporting.
  • Attend daily tier meetings to discuss Safety, Quality, Delivery Inventory, and Productivity issues that inhibit customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate resolution of nonconforming material with Engineering and Production Control teams.
  • Work with operations team to certify operators for Total Quality Control.
  • Conduct Layered Process Assessments in the factory.
  • Perform product and process audits for compliance to various standards and product requirements.
  • Support root cause and corrective action activities.
  • Support process improvements initiatives.
  • Support Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis on processes and products to prevent product defects and mitigate risk.
  • Support implementation of product Quality Control Plans.
  • Act on all applicable material, product and equipment alerts to prevent impact to product reliability using the nonconformance and/or purge process.
