About The Position

This Healthcare Strategy and Operations Project Manager role combines robust project management with strong analytical capabilities to drive high-priority initiatives across analytics, operations, and implementation. You will review medical, operational, and financial data, translate insights into clear recommendations, and help coordinate complex stakeholder environments to improve focus, accelerate decision-making, and ensure effective execution on strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Strong project management skills with experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a healthcare or medical industry environment.
  • Proven analytical mindset with the ability to review medical, operational, and financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Experience in strategy, consulting, analytics, or other quantitative roles, with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
  • Confidence in public speaking and presenting to various audiences, including board members, executives, large customers, and national workgroups, while simplifying complex topics.
  • Ability to challenge assumptions, ask probing questions, and clarify the rationale behind requests and data.
  • Demonstrated capability to prioritize work based on business impact and strategic objectives and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including navigating complex environments with strong personalities and competing priorities.
  • Proactive mindset with the confidence to influence decisions and drive results without requiring subject matter expertise in every domain.
  • Comfort operating at both a high strategic level and in the details, understanding how outcomes are derived and where to dig deeper.
  • Experience with customer or market research, enterprise initiatives or projects, KPI measurement, analytics, or technical development.
  • Proficiency with project valuation methods such as return on investment, payback period, cost-benefit analysis, net present value, or internal rate of return.
  • Ability to manage and interpret trend data and determine next steps to address emerging issues and opportunities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate complex information to diverse audiences.

  • Experience in the healthcare or medical industry is highly preferred.
  • Fast learner who quickly understands new concepts, systems, and processes and can operate effectively without being a subject matter expert.
  • Experience working with analysts, doctors, physicians, project managers, and health economics professionals.
  • Familiarity with Excel, AI tools, Power BI, and Dynamics for data analysis, reporting, and project tracking.
  • Knowledge of data science and dashboarding tools such as Power BI, SQL, Azure, Databricks, R, Python, or survey software such as QuestionPro.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, data science, or a related field is beneficial but not strictly required.
  • Approximately 7 or more years of experience in strategy, consulting, analytics, or other quantitative roles is ideal, but the focus is on demonstrated skills and impact rather than a specific number of years.
  • Comfort working with third-party partners and cross-organizational teams to coordinate data, analytics, and operational initiatives.
  • Ability to operate with authority to make decisions within defined scope and provide clear recommendations to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage healthcare strategy and operations projects from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with business impact and strategic objectives.
  • Participate in the review of medical, operational, and financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that inform strategic decisions.
  • Help prioritize work and initiatives based on business value, organizational goals, and resource availability.
  • Challenge assumptions by asking critical questions about requests, data, and proposed solutions to ensure sound decision-making.
  • Drive accountability and follow-through across cross-functional teams, including analytics, operations, implementation, and external partners.
  • Navigate complex stakeholder environments with strong personalities and competing priorities while maintaining productive relationships.
  • Maintain momentum on key initiatives despite heavily booked calendars and limited stakeholder availability by proactively managing schedules and follow-ups.
  • Translate data and insights into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to leadership on a regular basis, including executives and other senior stakeholders.
  • Manage and facilitate meetings, ensuring clear agendas, documented decisions, and follow-up actions, while also diving into details when needed.
  • Analyze trend data to determine where deeper investigation is required and guide teams on next steps to address emerging issues.
  • Work closely with analysts, medical professionals, physicians, project managers, and health economics staff to coordinate efforts and share insights.
  • Collaborate with third-party partners and internal data teams to obtain, interpret, and use data effectively in projects and initiatives.
  • Apply project valuation methods such as return on investment, payback period, cost-benefit analysis, net present value, and internal rate of return to support business cases.
  • Support customer or market research, enterprise initiatives, KPI measurement, analytics projects, and technical development efforts.
  • Use tools such as Excel, Power BI, Dynamics, and AI solutions to analyze data, develop dashboards, and communicate performance.
  • Stay informed about advances in data science and dashboarding tools and leverage them to improve reporting and analytics capabilities.
