This position is responsible for processing incoming customer payments by opening mail, preparing documents, and operating specialized scanning equipment used to process transactions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced production environment, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and can work independently while maintaining accuracy and productivity standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to two years or more of related work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of products, services, terminology, procedures and systems related to assigned area, as well as applicable laws and regulatory requirements such as Lockbox processing and banking operations, mailroom, document processing, payment processing, or production operations experience
  • 10-key proficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
  • Basic computer and data-entry skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and customer instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Open and process incoming mail containing customer payments.
  • Prepare checks, payment coupons, and supporting documents for scanning and processing.
  • Operate specialized scanning equipment used to process payment transactions.
  • Follow customer-specific processing instructions accurately.
  • Verify information and maintain quality standards throughout the process.
  • Meet established productivity and accuracy expectations.
  • Escalate questions or exceptions appropriately rather than making assumptions.
  • Support team goals and workload demand as business needs require.
  • Executes a variety of routine tasks within multiple operational systems and interacts with multiple internal partners.
  • Research exceptions and escalate issues to management as appropriate.
  • May have the opportunity to recommend and implement developed processing improvements within production.
  • Certain positions will require the ability to move trays and carts of work, stand or sit for extended periods of time, and repetitive motions
