About The Position

Under general supervision of the department manager, this role researches and reviews Adjustments and Reconciliation & Processing processes and controls, including those managed by offshore partners. The Operations Process Analyst provides valuable feedback to management from internal and external customers, LOBs, and other Financial Institutions on opportunities for improvement. This position also serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in defining process improvements, which includes helping to define requirements, participating in testing, and providing training to the department, including offshore teams. The role exercises a large degree of autonomy in identifying issues and process improvements and making recommendations to management. The Operations Process Analyst is responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures. They are accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensure that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank’s risk appetite, they achieve results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Four (4) years banking operations experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Self-motivation.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) with IT and other departments in the planning, testing, and implementation of new applications, enhancements, and/or conversions while also actively working the research and resolution of system and process problems impacting production.
  • Responsible for training and certification of onshore and offshore teams on revised and newly developed processes, procedures, and applications.
  • Assists management in oversight and revision of controls around production and quality for onshore and offshore teams.
  • Partners with management to create specific action plans to improve individual production and quality across the departments, while also assisting offshore partners as needed in this area.
  • Responsible for ensuring completion of annual process and procedure reviews and reporting on progress to management.
  • Assists management in compiling and analyzing data to improve production and quality based on process knowledge.
  • Assists management as SME in reviewing processes, procedures, and methods and recommend changes for improvement, with an emphasis on automation and efficiency.
  • Works with management on training to combat negative trends and support positive trends for both onshore and offshore teams.
  • As appropriate, share informational e-mails on new processes and trends noticed during reviews.
  • Exercises appropriate judgment in escalating complex problems to management.
  • Reports to management regularly on the progress against established project plans.
  • As SME, provide recommendations and context in prioritizing issues and requests their duties as assigned.
