About The Position

Radiant is an El Segundo, CA–based clean energy startup developing the world’s first portable, zero-emissions nuclear microreactor. Our Kaleidos 1MW system is designed to replace diesel generators in remote and mission-critical environments. Radiant plans to test its development reactor by 2026, aiming to be the first new commercial reactor design to achieve a fueled test in over 50 years. As Radiant scales toward commercialization, strong enterprise systems are critical to execution, compliance, and cost discipline. This role focuses on ensuring the availability of material, equipment, and manpower to support internal and external production activities, aligning these activities with build schedules, and coordinating material movement through internal work centers. The Production Planner will work closely with supply chain, warehouse, quality, engineering, and internal manufacturing teams to ensure material and internal fabrication readiness and outside processing activities are coordinated to support build execution. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of coordinating cross-functional teams to solve operational problems quickly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in production planning, materials planning, manufacturing coordination, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong understanding of BOM structures, inventory management, and production material flow.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems for production planning and inventory management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes of material availability issues.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and coordination skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with machine shops, fabrication operations, or manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with outside processing (OSP) workflows such as heat treatment, coatings, inspection or specialty finishing.
  • Experience supporting production kitting or manufacturing build readiness.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection processes, MRB workflows, or manufacturing run closures.
  • Experience improving operational processes in fast-moving production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Work with manufacturing engineering to maintain daily, weekly, and monthly build plans based on milestones, hardware availability, and internal capacity.
  • Analyze demand forecasts, capacity, and material availability to generate predicted throughput and monitor supporting activity completion.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules for manufacturing work centers.
  • Sequence jobs to maximize throughput and minimize changeovers.
  • Work with supply chain and engineering to ensure accurate demand forecasts, material readiness, and build plan completeness.
  • Maintain visibility of build readiness status and escalate risks that could impact build schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels and system availability to ensure materials are available for production builds.
  • Work with quality teams to prioritize inspection runs and activities needed to release material needed for production.
  • Coordinate and track internal production activities required to support production builds.
  • Monitor progress of internally fabricated components and ensure machining operations align with production priorities.
  • Manage and track outside processing (OSP) activities including heat treatment, plating, coatings, specialty machining, cleaning, welding, inspection, and other vendor-based processing steps.
  • Ensure materials requiring outside processing are scheduled, shipped, tracked, and returned in alignment with build schedules.
  • Work with manufacturing and supply chain teams to resolve delays or capacity constraints affecting internal or external production steps.
  • Coordinate with internal manufacturing teams when subassemblies must be built to meet higher level assembly targets.
  • Maintain and refine production, piece part, and assembly data to maintain accurate forecasting.
  • Investigate part number mismatches, BOM discrepancies, or inventory data issues.
  • Track actual production vs planned schedule to identify adherence discrepancies.
  • Improve processes related to production forecasting, planning, and production throughput.
  • Develop dashboards or tracking tools to improve visibility into production material readiness.
