We are seeking an individual with strong Manufacturing Test Engineering skills. You will be based in India and will have an active engagement with the Hardware and Software Design and Operations teams in Apple.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Electronics / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related
  • 3+ years of work experience in Manufacturing Test Engineering and Failure Analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in investigating production failures and driving root cause analysis
  • Testing of one or more of the following technologies: sensing (motion, touch), transducers, imaging, displays, electrical interconnect and protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, etc..).
  • Expertise with lab test set-up and equipment (e.g. high-speed oscilloscope, logic analyzer, power supplies, spectrum analyzers).
  • Ability and willingness to travel upto 50% domestically and internationally
  • Able to communicate effectively in a worldwide environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently under high pressure and comfortable working in dynamic environment.
  • Required to understand, plan development builds and mass production with factories worldwide.
  • Experienced in working with multi-functional teams such as hardware design, system teams, capital equipment, quality and process engineering.
  • Knowledgeable in crafting tester qualification requirements including calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability and reproducibility, design of experiments and failure analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in any of assembly, inspection, test station design, test development, maintenance and / or automation equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development and optimization of functional test systems and repair processes for both motherboards and fully assembled units.
  • Define test strategies, coverage, and specifications to ensure zero-defect escapes.
  • Investigate production test failures, identify root causes and Deploy strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills to resolve complex fixture, instrumentation, and station hardware issues
  • Analyze manufacturing test data to identify yield trends, recurring failure modes, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Qualify and maintain station hardware integrity using GR&R (Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility), factory audits, and calibration protocols.
  • Improve manufacturing test coverage, test robustness, and false failure reduction.
  • Manages test vendor scoping/qualification and drives mass production support, yield improvements, and cycle-time optimization.
