About The Position

Join Lonza's Bend manufacturing site and play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient delivery of life-changing therapies. As an Operations Material Handler, you will help ensure materials, equipment, and inventory are available and compliant, enabling our manufacturing teams to operate effectively. This is a fully site-based role. Working together in person supports close, real-time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards. Lonza Pharma & Biotech has an opening for an Operations Material Handler at our Bend, Oregon site. In this role, you will support manufacturing operations by ensuring materials and equipment are available, compliant, and properly managed. Your work will help maintain a safe and efficient environment that enables us to deliver life-changing products to patients worldwide.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience with inventory control systems; SAP experience is preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling environments.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • SAP experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and maintain compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support daily material handling and inventory control activities.
  • Manage hazardous waste and bulk solvent processes safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure work areas are stocked, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Coordinate equipment transfers and maintain accurate records and logbooks.
  • Report issues promptly and support facility maintenance activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
