This role is responsible for directing the activities of the distribution center, overseeing inventory, supervising warehouse and delivery staff, and ensuring efficient and safe operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Internet Explorer.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word-Word Processing software.
  • Knowledge of Order processing systems.
  • Knowledge of RF scanners.
  • Knowledge of SAP Business software.
  • Forklift Certificate
  • Valid Driver License with F Endorsement
  • Automobile insurance - 100/300/50 minimum limits of liability

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all inbound and outbound inventory, the handling and disposition of materials, keeping inventory current and accurate.
  • Supervises receiving, put-away, order picking, loading, and the delivery of products to customers.
  • Ensures minimal product damage, safety, inventory control, and a high level of customer satisfaction and service.
  • Inspects physical condition of the Distribution Center and all equipment on a regular schedule, ensuring all conditions and equipment are safe and orderly. Coordinates the maintenance and repair of building, equipment and grounds.
  • Leads the Location Safety Team.
  • Plans and executes periodic physical inventories.
  • Interviews, hires, trains, disciplines, and evaluates the performance of DC teammates, maintaining specified staffing levels and performance and safety standards.
  • Trains and certifies teammates in proper use for forklifts and other equipment. Enforces safety standards for all equipment usage in accordance with OSHA and Company standards and policies.
  • Approves time worked and time off for all DC teammates.
  • Directs salvage of damaged product.
  • Provides daily and/or weekly reports as required.
  • Communicates with Sales Department on any delayed and/or undelivered orders and to establish special and holiday delivery routes.
  • Confers with other department heads to ensure coordination of Distribution Center activities and functions of other departments.
  • Continually reviews work practices and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness and safety of all operations.
  • Manages the Distribution Center Supervisors who supervises the PM Warehouse Workers in the Distribution Center. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises all AM Warehouse Workers and Delivery Drivers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
